Have the Veterans here stayed in shape since leaving their beloved branch? If not, why not start getting back into it now? Veterans don't make excuses, they make decisions.

What have you done to stay in shape and what motivation can you pass onto your fellow servicemen and women to get them back on track?

Capt Tom Brown That is the recommended number of steps a day. I usually walk 2.5 miles at one time, which equals 6000 steps. The other walking is doing chores, shopping, etc. I usually do not take a nap, unless I am thoroughly beat.

I try....but life seems to get in the way! I really miss my running, tennis, seeing progress in my physical shape. Now I see a 59 year old woman who is not the person I would like to be! Tell me how to make it happen!:-)

You can do all the training you want....the gains and losses start in the kitchen. Doesn't mean starve yourself, 5 meals a day, eat clean, fresh fruits and vegetables, clean meat, stay away from boxed and frozen meals. HIIT style weight training 3-4 days a week. That is the battle plan to a healthy and more energized lifestyle...oh and a gallon of water a day. And age isn't a factor...my dad is 64 and still keeps up with me. He was my coach growing up and now I'm his coach haha

PO1 (Join to see) - I have my own veggie garden, have done a csa for nine weeks, but honestly, I'm not the domestic type:-). I hate cooking. I do like some things, but after my chemo for breast cancer, I developed different tastes. Can seem to find things that taste good. Really weird.

If you download your fitbit results to your mobile device find a friend who also has one and does the same. Then you can challenge each other to daily and weekly step battles.

MSgt (Join to see) - I did that, but it seems all my friends gave up! I have the new blaze with a leather band and really like it. I just need to make me get off the duffer! I am showing over 30 minutes of high activity daily, but I need an hour daily. Thanks for the suggestion. What do you do to stay fit?
