I will be PCS to Ft Benning in January. Currently a SPC(E4), I was told it’s best to go to your next duty station (P) in this case Benning for me. What does a 19D do at TRADOC installations?

You're probably going to 3ID if you're a SPC

MAJ Ronnie Reams most schools on Benning fall under TRADOC. 194th has majority of the CAV troops now. Its mostly basic training for 19D.

199th handles OCS, IBOLC and I believe ABOLC. 198th and 197th are Infantry Training Brigades responsible for OSUT, they also each have cadre for various ranges. No idea about 196th, never heard of it.MAJ Ronnie Reams

Very likely just cadre. Or their could be a random unit on post who's job is to support the training units.

Do you have a paragraph and line number? Unit?
When I was a 19D I came across some random assignments scattered throughout the Army (like 1 19D3O at Ft Leonard Wood - no clue), this seems to be like that. Yes instructors are E6, Drills are 5/6 but you'd know if it was Drill. It may be as a training support Soldier. Sort of behind the scenes to help with ranges, inventory, vehicles (probably vehicles!) to take some work off the instructors.

It may be a crap job. You may be having long days and 0 credit for your work. Take Benning for what it's worth!!! Fight to go to Advanced Situational Awareness and Army Recon Course, then RSLC once you make 5, this way when you leave Benning to take over a Team at the next station you are still on top of the game.

I’ll receive my orders from my S1 with all those details when I get back from post deployment leave.

SPC (Join to see) - According to FMSWeb W1DX is the Armor school (go figure) The P is 2-15 Cav, which is OSUT. There is no C, just 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 which looks to be the individual training Troops. Within the MTOE for all of 2-15 I didn't see a single 19D1O, just a few 19D2O who are the training rooms NCOs. You can always call the S1 at 2-15 Cav and ask.
Now in a different Squadron (1-16), if the UIC is a C instead of a P, there are tons of spots for 19D1O, as drivers. You'd be driving soon to be LTs around and being their Scout as they learn how to TC and "control" a Scout Platoon (even though we know its the Section Sgts who do that!)

CW2 (Join to see) - Also, like any orders, they only really assign you to the BDE level command (the Armor School), and their S-1 will put you wherever they need you. True pinpoint assignments are only really for E7 and up or special assignments. You could get something saying "You're on orders to be a 19D at RSLC" and when you sign in the Armor school goes "OK, welcome to 2-16 CAV, be nice to the Lieutenants."
