What does the word courage mean to you?

To make a stand to make things better for others that don't have the courage to speak up or act on an issue.

To me it means recognizing adversity and seeking to conquer it.

Courage means to intelligently asset a situation and base on your training, knowledge and physical abilities solve that problem.

Courage is the determination to be brave when all of your natural senses and instincts are telling you to do the opposite. It’s the ability to put the needs of others above your own desire to survive.

As a Marine it is difficult to acknowledge that though we are harden Marines, we tend to not ask for help when we most need it. From family or friends. Even our own health care providers. The answer to what courage means to me is being strong enough and know when we have to ask for help. Regardless of what it is, courage is knowing when to ask for help.

We go through so much while in the military, we volunteer ourselves for the betterment of others and we have to find the courage to know when we need help.

The word courage has many meanings for many people. For me it’s driving down that long road on a long day of work and stopping on the side of the road (even though you didn’t have to) because their having car trouble. Or when you see that single mother with a baby in her arms needing help lifting the groceries in her car. To me courage is making that small sacrifice to put others before yourself.

To face all fears (inner, outer, domestic and domestic) while being an inspiration to those you lead and mentor.

Always keep going. Push your self and Never quit.
