The word integrity means to be true to your values in all you do weather someone is watching or not.
Honesty with yourself and those around you no matter the circumstances around you.
TO SUPPORT MY VETERAN HUSBAND NO MATTER WHAT HE FALLS SHORT IN. TO STAND BY HIM WHEN HE HAS EPISODES OF HIS PTSD AND NOT EMBARRASS HIM BY BELITTLING HIM IN FRONT OF PEOPLE. TO STAND BY HIM NO MATTER HOW TIRED OR EXHAUSTING IT IS. TO UNDERSTAND AND STILL LOVE HIM NO MATTER HOW HARD THE JOURNEY IS. TO UNDERSTAND THAT HE GOT THIS DISORDER FROM PROTECTING US AND GIVING US FREEDOM. TO ENCOURAGE HIM AND KEEP HIM FIGHTING FOR HIS LIFE AND NEVER GIVING UP ON HIM.
THIS IS HIS WIFE MELISSA WRITING THIS.

Integrity and self respect are partners. If you lack self respect you don't have integrity. It's part of you. Caring about others because you care about yourself. Doing the right thing at the right time. Honesty, self respect and realizing we are all humans is integrity.
Exhibiting appropriate and acceptable behaviors, especially during the times when no one is looking or around you.
Put as simply as possible, integrity is the quality of a human being to always seek to do the right thing, even if no one else is watching, even if it would be more adventagious to do less than the right thing or even if there is no apparent benefit whatsoever for doing the right thing. Sometimes it is not always easy to determine what is the right thing to do in every single situation. We can only hope that almighty God in his infinite wisdom will give us sufficient wisdom to act with integrity in situations where it is extremely important to do so. - John Gardner - USMC veteran
