What does the word sacrifice mean to you?

What our men and women do for this country, lost lives or limbs, or mental status. To give American the right to live in a communist free country.

Giving selflessly to others , sometimes at the detriment of yourself for your highest calling

Sacrifice to me means to not do for yourself but for others.

Sacrifice means to me to give up something for the greater good.

To be willing to lose something for the greater good of someone or something.

Sacrifice, is the ultimate gift of ones self whether by protecting a loved one from harm or from a military standpoint which is the willingness to give ones life for God and Country.

sacrifice means giving your life for a cause, but to me, it’s more than that. Sacrifice means giving up time with your family, comfort, and daily luxuries over and over for something you believe in.

Sacrifice, is when one runs into a burning building with no thought to their safety, but the safety of others, and does not escape uninjured.

Relinquishing all that you have; either emotionally, physically, or mentally in an attempt to better another situation. Pouring in the life of resources so that that others can can prosper.

The sacrifice of Christ, Soldier's, and people who give their life to save others. Strategic reasons in business, sports, and even in war to gain a strategic advantage are also examples of sacrifice.
