To me, sacrifice means to deny myself my desires and needs for the desires and needs of others.

Putting a commitment or others' long term wellness ahead of our own personal short term satisfaction.

It means giving ALL of you, for the greater good. It could mean giving your life, your freedom for that others might be free.

Sacrifice is voluntarily taking on a personal hardship for the benefit of another living thing.

It means your family has to do all of the every day to day tasks and problems without you to help and always not knowing if you'll make it back to them.

Sacrifice is giving up something you value for something you value more. For example if you really value living, then giving your life for a friend would be a sacrifice. But it's also true that if you really value dying save a friend, then living would be a sacrifice.

Sacrifice means to me that I look to care for others. Offer assistance, love, acceptance and do what I can to meet their needs even when I can not afford whatever the cost may be. To remain committed to the Oath I took in 1970 to defend the Constitution of the United States of America from all enemies foreign and domestic.

It means sacrifice, which my husband made in the Navy, aboard the USS FORRESTAL. Yet when he went to the VA for a COVID shot he was told he wasn’t eligible, because he makes to much money. So He sacrificed again. So the sacrifices he made for our country doesn’t matter. Our we bitter YES. the VA needs to rethink what and how they treat our veterans. When he signed on to the NAVY they never said, “well if you make a certain amount of money, your not going to be eligible for benefits. Uncle Sam won’t even give you a shot during a pandemic “. Sacrifice was made, but no appreciation
