Sharing the unique gift of self with others in need; to offer mind, body, and soul back to the universe; to love.

A sacrifice is a loss or something you give up, usually for the sake of a better cause. Parents sacrifice time and sleep to take care of their children, while kids might sacrifice TV time to hang out with mom and dad.
Though no longer used only in a religious context, sacrifice comes from the Latin sacra and facere, meaning "to perform sacred rites." If you've studied ancient cultures like the Incas, you've probably heard of "human sacrifice," where a person is killed in a sacred ceremony to please the gods. But thankfully those kinds of sacrifices don't happen anymore.

Sacrifice is any individual who puts others before themselves. This includes helping anyone in need in any way you can, including the willingness to give their life for the benefit of others. A wise woman once stated a very insightful and truthful quote (not necessarily verbatim, but close enough): "It is not so much our circumstances, rather our dispositions, that are the greater cause of our happiness or misery" - Martha Washington. Her husband, George, sacrificed everything to come to America and start the wave of freedom we all enjoy today. The people wanted to make him King of America, yet he refused such a position, instead opting to take the first seat as President of the United States of America. Let freedom ring!

Sacrifice to means giving up some of the things you want or desire in order to become successful in whatever it is you are trying achieve. Or putting something of yours on the line for someone's else happiness. For example my father sacrificed his own life in order for Americans to have equality and peace amongst one another. He fought to keep our country safe from our enemies. Another example is; my mom sacrificed her studies ( school) so she could tend to me and raise and take care of me. If she hadn't done so, I think things would have been harder on her, being a single mother, and playing both mom and dad to me. I sacrificed partying and hanging out with friends in order to have some peace and less chaotic events. It allowed to focus more on what I needed rather than what I wasn't doing in order to achieve success. It also drew me closer to my children. By taking myself out of the fog and making it clear to see where my mistakes were and how to go about that then differently than I were.

Sacrifice to me means your willing to give up something and expect nothing in return. You do this willingly and usually without thinking about the outcome.
