It's one that's afraid of doing something but does it anyway.

Sacrifice to me means giving of ones self material, time, etc for a great good or to someone. It could be giving up an opportunity to someone they feel is more deserving or giving the shirt off your back for someone who doesn't have one. It could also be giving up your time to serve others, watch someones kid or family member especially if you had concert tickets for that same day.

Giving of myself to help people that cannot do it alone. This may include: sacrificing time, sacrificing freedoms, sacrificing jobs, and ultimately sacrificing my life for another.

Sacrifice is the giving up of something for someone else or for another purpose. Many of us understand or have seen this type of sacrifice played out in our lives, whether it is in a parent-child relationship, or the giving up of something for a friend or person we care about.

SPECIALIST Tommy Ray Miller - Sacrifice is a selfless act, spontaneous or planned, that resolves a problem one did not create yet is compelled by noble intent to ameliorate. It is done for a greater good, with no thought of reciprocation or reward. Sacrifice is a way of re-thinkng one's priorities and adjusting them for the betterment of humanity.
