IMHO, if you're not getting a Special Duty Assignment it will be extremely difficult to obtain an assignment in the VA area considering its Logistical and high ranking echelon managers.
Fort Belvoir Army Base in Fairfax, VA. ...
Fort Eustis Army Base in Newport News, VA. ...
Fort Lee Army Base in Prince George, VA. ...
Fort Monroe Army Base in Hampton, VA. ...
Fort Myer Army Base in Arlington, VA. ...
Fort AP Hill Army Base in Bowling Green, VA. ...
Fort Pickett Army Base in Blackstone, VA.
As SFC stated. Old Guard might be your best bet.

Only way to get Ft Lee would be if there is an 11B tactics instructor slot at CASCOM teaching either OBC or one of the NCoES courses. In the BOLC, there are Combat arms officers teaching tactics.

I would be surprised if the Pentagon didn't have a hand full of 11B slots to make coffee or pick up trash.

LTC (Join to see) Sir, they have 7's 8's, 04's and some 05"s doing that. When i was stationed at Lee, CASCOM Logistic Proponency just coming off of 1SG duty I was humbled to know there were a lot of senior Officers and NCO's duty assignment removing trash daily.

The only infantry unit in Virginia is The Old Guard in Fort Myer, and you can't reenlist for that. You'll have to meet all the prerequisites of TOG and contact your branch manager for an acceptance letter.
