I didn't use a cell phone until after I was in the Army and stationed in Germany, where it was cheaper to have a cell phone than a landline (or use a payphone). What always impressed me was the ability to contact Soldiers scattered all over post every time there was a change in a timeline or plans. I have no idea how I would have pulled that off on a daily basis without one.

It made it easier to contact the kids.
I can live without one, turn it off after work, tell everyone to just call my wife's phone.
And maybe because I'm old school, I still can drink out of the garden hose when outside.
Oh, in the early 60's, we had no running water just drank rain water, used outhouse too.
And, that's why 11B was so easy for me.
