What falls under the purview of my branch manager?

I’m just curious as to what I should be contacting my branch manager for.
So things I know to call branch about are: marriage(specifically dual military), promotion, and PCS.
Is there anything else they handle. Up until recently, I’ve been told pretty much that as a junior enlisted soldier we don’t call branch for anything. I just want to know what their scope of services is and what are the the appropriate kinds of conversations should I be having with them. I’m curious so if I ever do decide to call them I know what their role is and how they can help me.

Really the only time you will call your branch manager is when you get in your window of reassignment as a junior enlisted Soldier or issues pertaining to an assignment that you received notification on. Promotion, marriage and dual military questions are directed through your COC or your BN S1. I hope this helps. Good luck to you....

Pretty much for PCSing , to talk about your wish list which we all know very seldom are in line with the need of the Army. But that’s why we joined in the first place, right?

The reason they tell you that is because of the volume of calls they receive. Your S/G1 should handle 99 percent of any issues on your behalf, and your CSM having the greatest access handles anything they cannot. You can call if you choose, just not a lot there to discuss if they pickup. Thank you for your service.
