I fell down the stairs coming out of the flight to Italy on the way to Iraq in 03'. That's the closest I ever came to foreign jump wings.

All done and what an experience. I was also honored to have been pinned by a LG who served with the 5th SF group in Viet Nam, after having escaped Laos before it fell to the communists and joined the US Army.

I was trying to outrun the local law-enforcement in Pohang, Korea (MEC-P). Nearly sedated, I departed the "86-Club's" second-story exit, "Miami Vice'd" it over the guardrail --right into my shipmates' arms. Although the scenario was well-documented in my SRB (thank you, Capt Nickerson), I never formally received my "jump wings." But in review, I'm OK with it NOT appearing on my DD-214.
