I have been very interested in the WOFT program for a while now. I'm a Corporal (Sergeant is soon to come), Combat Engineer in the Marine Corps and my EAS is March of 2019. I'm looking for guidance/advice anything pertinent to this. I know of the recruiting website already. Thanks in advance.

I would get on the USAREC website and look what you’ll need for your packet and make sure you qualify. There’s certain things you can start knocking out now to get the ball rolling(USAREC has examples). It’ll also show some initiative when you start trying to find a Sr WO for a letter. Flight Physicals are good for 1 year, but I’ve heard stories of people waiting months to take it. Make sure you get the ball rolling on getting a security clearance if you don’t already have one, that’s a process too. Other than that I would start googling info on the SIFT. Passing score is 41 I think, but I know ppl that made it with low and high forties. A plus is the Army needs has a big demand for aviators.

The Packet is really easy to put together. I would suggest looking over some FAA guides and watching some YouTube videos on basic aerodynamics for the sift. Other than that just get some good LORs and some college helps. You might also look into getting a conditional release from the Marines and start the process early. That’s what I did when I switched from the Navy.
