What habit(s) have you been unable to break after leaving the military?

Just to start the conversation, I still make sure that my 'gig' line is straight every single time I get dressed.

Yea, I'm with you on the 15 minutes early is on time and 10 minutes is 5 late.
Also can't stand the "it's not my job".
And get me irritated, the knife hand comes out.

I still keep things military aligned. I have an issue with keeping things out of my right hand, but I’m left handed and don’t like things in my gun hand. Everything I wear has to be pressed and my shoes shined or clean.

Saying Sir or Ma'am. 24 Hour clock. Say again instead of What? I'm sure there are more. But those are my big 3.

I think the one habit that sticks with me is eating fast, showering fast, gig line my clothes. I walk faster than the average person. I address everyone, for any reason. I look them in the face and give the greeting of the day.

Everyone's still sir/ma'am, time is still military, date is still military, hat worn military, and I ALWAYS salute our Nation's flag with a salute that's still as crisp and sharp as when I was taught it over 45 years ago, oh, and I still hate Officers. Lol!
