Just to start the conversation, I still make sure that my 'gig' line is straight every single time I get dressed.

- All my clocks are 24hr but when someone asks me the time, I will say "3:30" even though my watch is telling me 1530.
- "Say again?"
- It's not clean if it's not sterile.

Always step off on my left foot first, check my alignment of my shirt with trousers and still lace my boots and shoes left over right. And whenever I am in a store and/or crowd my eyes are always moving watching people and checking my perimeter. Old habits are hard to break even though I retired in 1985. Semper Fi. GySgt USMC (RET) '65-'85.

I retired in ‘69 (disability at only 4 years) and I do all of these. The shoelace thing makes my wife cry she laughs so hard.

none, I flipped the switch to civilian. My hair is not regulation, I have a beard, I don't make my bed, I leave my shoes beside my recliner, I eat slow and enjoy my meal. I'm 55 years old and the rest of my time on this planet is mine.

Can't walk around with a shirt untucked, or without a belt. Still wear a hat every time I go outdoors and take it off when entering a building. I wake up at least 15 minutes prior to the alarm clock. Hair cut short, but feel like a rebel for wearing my mustache a quarter inch longer than the AR allows.
From being a 63B (91B) i still drive around in a pickup carrying enough tools to rebuild the thing if I needed to.

Lets start with my closet and dresser. Shirts hung all facing the same way pants in the same manor. All hanging garments are 2 finger spaces apart. Socks folded into a ball, under garments folded, shoes aligned according to use. When I begin to walk i start with my LEFT at a 30" step and I have a bad habit of marching in step with whomever i'm walking with. The worst is I find myself yelling at people who seem to NOT be moving with a purpose. Lastly I am never late, if your early your on time, if your on time your late, and if your late don't bother showing up!!! Still carry that one with me. Which in turn leads to the old military addege of "HURRY UP AND WAIT."

As an NCO, if I told my Soldiers to do something, I expected it to get done without having to repeat it. In my classroom, I have those same expectations, except 8th graders still have to be told multiple times. It's a little annoying.

Yeah, when I call USAA or anyone else who needs my license plate or some other alpha numeric string, they get it in the phonetic alphabet.
