Why are they not at Fort Benning, GA anymore?  Why were they deactivated?

Cause the Army said so- in the late 90's we cut back on many units to get down to the required number of slots authorized by Congress- entire bDE's, Even Division were reflagged or killed

Deactivated in 2013 as part of the Army's reduction in force...many units are/have been deactivating the last year or so.
