Well....SLC is for those going for SFC...so you have some time unless you're a SSG but haven't updated your profile. Which is no big deal. However, to the question at hand.....
If you fail HT/WT and get sent home...your CSM at BDE and BN level will get a notification from the Commandant and then your 1SG will get an earful. And yes, you can attend at a later date.....if your Command allows it. They will be very cautious in wanting to send you again any time soon. I've heard of some folks having to wait 6 months (or longer) to try again.

SGT (Join to see) - If you got pinned without the school, then yes....you have one year to complete the course IOT keep the rank.

SGT (Join to see) If the Training NCO and the CSM are on their game you will be reduced at the one year mark if you haven't completed NCOES. MSG (Join to see) has already mentioned that some Brigades have a policy that prevents Soldiers from reapplying for NCOEs courses after No-shows, failure, or release. You might want to look into that. For failures, my command makes you wait a year. In your case, that means you are getting reduced.

Being dismissed from SLC for any reason will trigger a QMP. Once your 1059 is loaded, it will load as an AER-R, meaning referred, and trigger the QMP look. Since you are a SFC, you will be evaluated during the SFC Evaluation board.
Triggering QMP does not mean you will be separated. As far as QMP goes, this is one that is usually retained. You were conditionally promoted so you have one year to go to SLC or your promotion will be rescinded or revoked. You were sent home, so it will take a GO to endorse your 4187 to request another class seat. If you fail it the second time, you will certainly be separated with the second QMP referral.
