just want to say this - holy shit am I glad to be retired. label me as you want - I am against transgendered people serving in the military. That is a can of worms that is going create a whole new shitstorm of eeo and harassment complaints the minute someone accidentally "misgenders" one of them. and how do you deal with all the "nuetral genders" and what ever other kind of nonsense these people want us to aknowledge their genders to be despite empirical scientific facts to the contrary. At what point does someone mental fantasies outweigh empirical scientific facts? or the beliefs of those that oppose the notion that there are more than 2 genders? I will never agree to be ordered to aknowledge their made up Genders, there beliefs do not out weigh my own beliefs, especially when my belief in two genders s supported by science and natural facts.

Clothing allowance annually is for the replacement of worn items, upkeep of current items and new items that have come on the clothing list that are mandatory possession.
As such I assume a Trans person that transition while already a member is responsible for the clothing items that now need to be procured to go with the new gender identification.
CW3 Lindsey Muller may be able to shed some light on this topic.
As for those entering service (if and when that comes on line) Id bet that is one of many issues being looked at....during this delay of implementation.

I was watching an interview. On Tucker Carlson, about men who identify as a woman. For one thing the body fat limits are different for men and women . So should a man who thinks he's a woman use there bidy fat limit.

For the Army, the policy as I understand it is that they go by the gender marker in DEERS. If a male is transitioning, they are considered male for all standards including PT, etc, until appropriate authorities (medical/psychological/whatever) provides the paperwork to change that M to an F. So it is more than "thinks" to be able to use the other gender's standards.

You follow the same regs as everybody else based on the gender marker in DEERS. If at some point there is a need for change prior to a DEERS gender marker change, you get an Exception to Policy from the person who can grant those based on your service's regs (for AF, it's the AF/A1 - the 3-star in charge of all personnel issues). Once approved, you go buy your new unis as needed.

This really isn't a big deal, because day to day uniform wear is usually BDU's or ACU's, or whatever the nomenclature currently is for these unisex combat uniforms.
Class A's are another matter, and a little more costly.
In 1991 when I was recalled to active duty for Operation Desert Storm I was issued four sets of BDU's. Later, I purchased a set of female, AG-344 Greens and wore them after mustering out, on my return trip home.

SSG Diane R. - No, the cut of the uniform is different. They are actually taking into account body types.

They can use both mens and women's bathrooms. Women converting can use urinals. Free hormone shots, plastic surgery, breast implants are being proposed by the democrats. A one time proposal of $50,000 is also being offered for the trauma these poor military personal are going thru.

I would recommend against bringing personal issues into the military, but if I were to have to guess. I would assume that you would have to conform to the standards of whatever gender you claim. That being said, I don't know if you want to be that one private in basic/boot. If you're in the process of transitioning, I strongly recommend that you finish before enlisting. Also, elective procedures are very frowned upon and if you were taken out of commission for an extended period of time without enough leave to cover your absence, you will definitely receive consequences

Jayden Manning - the comment above me trans should be aloud in and serve just as much as the next person. I'm assuming you would identify as either or and stick to that code and not go against AR 67-1
