RallyPoint has several new exciting platforms for companies to hire and retain veteran talent. Many companies are trying to build veteran talent pipelines, but are struggling without the proper resources and insight into our population.

I've been recently hired by Level 3 Communications (Not L3), and they are phenomenal! The Veterans Employee Resource Group is the biggest group in the company and is used as a model for the other employee groups. Level 3 does their best to make Veterans welcome.

Hello everyone, my name is David E. Jenkins Jr. and I am the Veterans Outreach Specialist at Cambridge Business Institute.I have met a lot of you. As a reminder I am informing everyone I help Veterans with Employment training. As a Marine Corps Veteran I know the importance it is to have employment after Military Service. A lot of our Service Men & Women had MOS's that might not be conducive to today's workforce. So they would have to be trained in something that can get them gainful employment. That's where I come in. I can help them with Employment Training. So if you have any Veterans that may need my help please have them contact me. I am in the office here at Cambridge on Tuesdays. The rest of the time I am in the field. The training can be at no cost to the Veterans because the courses can be Government and State funded and in some cases the Veteran can get a stipend to help with financial needs. I am enclosing my info so you can pass it on the Veterans. Thank you for your time. Have a great day!

I am a 0653 Data Network Specialist, USMC and 25N Joint Nodal Network Operator - Maintainer with 9 years combined experience in every level and piece or IT. I've worked on enterprise networks with 200 - 2000 users depending upon the operation. I also supported 2 civilian small businesses during my IRR time. Since the military doesn't validate experience nor training and civilians don't trust my resume without supporting documents, I've been attending school for around two years with almost no BAH and the VA says that my account is fine. $190 doesn't seem fine to me and it looks like school will be extended again because I can't afford to show up. I need to return to minimum wage jobs for awhile until I can afford the additional gas to attend school again. In short, military doesn't certify us and the VA can't help me make up the difficiency. I've been out since 2011 and I've skills in a directly related field but I still have no prospects. The problem, IMO, isn't civilian misunderstanding; it's military's lack of realistic effort to set us up for success.

My ex-company........not much at all.
Being responsible, professional, reliable, and ethical adults is not always a good thing, today you must be EXTREMELY politically correct, and apparently a significant "YES" man, which I don't know about anyone else, completely goes against the grain for me.
While active duty, I used to joke (

My wife and I own a Hospice company in Albuquerque, NM called, High Desert Hospice. We would love to find and hire capable veteran RN's and CNA's, but they seem hard to come by in our area. We've been in business for a little over a year and are growing by leaps and bounds. I'd love it to find some veterans; just don't know where to look.

Are you using LinkedIn or Facebook to target candidates? I suggest posting on Facebook in the groups "Veteran 2 Veteran Info" and "The Army Alumni Retiree Share Group" for starters. For LinkedIn "Veteran Mentor Network" is a must.

You can also source candidates on Twitter using hashtags #hire #veterans #RN #CNA

If you have more information to provide, I will share information on my LinkedIn update to see if any of my connections are looking, or are connecting to someone who is, for such positions.

No, I hadn't thought about LinkedIn or Facebook. Mostly, we get our candidates via Indeed. I will definitely check out those groups on FB. I've never thought of Twitter as a way to get our message out. You've definitely opened my eyes. Thank you SFC Simonsen!

PO2 John Crutchfield - You are welcome. Social media is definitely the way to go these days to source new talent as it is the number #1 people network with one another. Also look into BeBee.com
Best of luck to you.

My company doesn't care about hiring veterans specifically. My company is a very left leaning company with little or no respect for veterans or military. They (big shots) and very large number of the funkiest are anti-2A and they actively support Hillary and urge us to vote for her in November. I've been looking for a way out but finding another employer is difficult as age discrimination is alive and well and thriving in U.S.A.

Voting up your comment not because I like what's happening in your company, nor what's happening to you, but because I believe what you are experiencing is pretty commonplace, and that's why I help veterans get jobs, and why I became a founding board member at NEOVETS. Please visit http://www.neovets.org, and http://www.gunnyret.com to see if we can help.

I'm currently struggling to find work in my trained field (IT) because I didn't obtain any civilian validations before leaving active duty. I have 9 years of experience and I'm collecting certifications while distributing resumes at a cyclic rate.
