What if your VA benefits were deducted from your military retirement pay?

I didn't know there was such a thing as CRDP (Concurrent Retirement and Disability Pay). I guess that's because it's for those with 50% disability or higher. I'm not part of that population.
I think concurrent disability pay (meaning, in addition to retirement pay) is a great idea and how things should work. Taking that away is a very bad idea.
In fact, I wish concurrent disability pay were in effect for all disabled vets, no matter the percentage. I think that's how disability should work. It should be in addition to retirement pay.

I am 40% - I receive the 40% disability from the the VA that is non taxed and 60% of my retirement which is taxed.
