I went to basic last summer and am now in reception for AIT. Also are there any rucks/field exercises? And is there anything I can study while I wait at reception? Do we get our phones? Or have passes on the weekends?

The best people who can answer most of your questions will be your DS in your unit. They will tell you what you can and can’t do during the week and weekend. It will probably be a lot different now since COVID hit so you may not get as much freedom as you want. Don’t worry about learning before hand. That is what the instructors are there to do. They will teach you all you need to know for your MOS.

Some rucks for PT. There is one field exercise where you will shoot your live rounds. We keep our phones. However I would suggest only having it during free time. You also have passes on the weekends unless you mess up. This is a very easy ait. Just pay attention during the ammo class week.
