I will be ship out on Feb 2020 to fort Gordon. I’m pretty sure I’ll consider MOS-T soldier. However, the only problem is POV, if I am I allowed to drive up there or keep my POV with me? My recruiter doesn’t know about it properly, is there a point of contact that I can call and verify regarding POV policy for prior service. I appreciate anyone's help.

SPC (Join to see) - Fort Gordon's not a bad post for a TRADOC location. Augusta is a decent-sized city and it has a pretty vibrant arts community with lots of stuff to do when you get off post. I did Network Switching Systems Operator/Maintainer AIT there followed by three years of permanent party with the 63rd Sig before it moved down the road to Fort Stewart. I was also prior service and grew up in the Army, and I can think of so many waaaay worse places to train or be permanent party.

Just seeing if you could provide an update on 25B school. How is the training? Do you think it touches on some of the Comptia certifications?

It does help you to get on with basic knowledge of security plus but you have to study on your own for the certification. School will provide ways to get on that.

Can you give an update of school? I’m in the VA Guard looking to switch to 25B but want to know what certifications you obtain while in AIT?

We actually test for those certificates while there? I’ve seen mixed reviews. Some saying you have to do it separately to actually obtain the certificate but you at least get the knowledge while at school.

Check out Matt Ward on YouTube. He did 25B in 2015 and is a great resource!

I did called the number on the website, however, they told me that they don’t know, and gave me another number, tried to call that number couple of times but no one answer. I’ll probably try again tomorrow, meantime I was looking for an answer here as well. SGM Bill Frazer

Understand, but they change things often and part is based on the School Commandant/Post Cdr
