What is a day in the life of Army EOD, in general? How often do they deploy? If they deploy, what is the tempo like?

How much does it vary depending on group (ie 52nd, 28th)?

Deployment varies depending on the mission, it can be nonstop Code H destruction, route clearance, base response, SF support.
Deployment happens when it happens depends on where you are stationed.
Daily routine varies from team to team, some get after the training, some do the bare minimum to get by. But making training aids, running problems, inventories, maintenance, EOD and Army training, Deployment prep, dog and pony shows, we do it all.

EOD works well for steady, methodical, dedicated, thoughtful people.
An EOD Officer type cousin was being helpful in disarming a hand grenade fuse for a friend. He was very thankful that his neighbor, an Army MD, removed a ‘few’ fragments w/o filing a report of the injuries!

Anytime you see EOD in a hurry/panic- run like HELL and stay in front of them!. Seriously it is a pain staking, delicate and dedicated MOS. Deployments depend on the number of IEDs, AO, etc.
