USAA has better customer service in my opinion.

Local banks in your area can always be competitive though. You never know until you call and start talking rates and various options.

USAA. HANDS DOWN. Look into there vetting interest earning capacities. They have a very broad range of types allowing for versatility.

I’m with Navy Federal CU and have been happy. I have also heard good things about PenFed CU. I much prefer credit unions over banks.

USAA has been getting a lot of hate the last year or so but I haven't had any problems and would recommend them. I use a number of their products.

I wonder if USAA requires you to use this wording in this new law on conventional loans. If they want to resell your mortgage to Fannie Mae or Freddie MAC it will require this wording after May. And those two buy up over 90% of all new mortgages. https://www.wfla.com/personal-finance/homebuyers-with-good-credit-to-pay-higher-mortgage-rates/#:~:text=A%20new%20federal%20rule%20enforced,of%20%24400%2C000%2C%20the%20report%20said.
