Im a 13M AIT Instructor. Your course will be 5 weeks long. Most of the instruction will be hands on training. Learning how do preventive maintainance checks and services and 4 different vehicles. You will be tested on different checks. Just like any army course there will be power point/ classroom blocks of instruction. Most of your training will be learning how to use two different crane systems for launcher pod container emplacement (rockets/missles). This course isn't hard if your a hands on learning and you can follow directions. Make sure you come to AIT ready to pass a APFT. Any other questions just ask.

In 2000 when I went through AIT it was a blast. I guess I was lucky cuz I was already very athletic so I was always in the top 5% and it seemed like in both basic and AIT, the top 10% were always rewarded with something special. In basic training I was one of a select few who got to go watch the fireworks on post for the 4th at Ft Benning GA and during AIT I was blessed to attend a Reba McEntire concert. So what I’m saying is excel at everything you do, stay awake in the classroom to prevent doing doing bear craws and wall sits lol, and make friends with people who challenge you and encourage you. Not the ones who keep your from excelling.
