I'm trying to Reclass to become a 17E Electronic Warfare Specialist. The only requirement i see that may be a issue is the normal color vision one. I can currently pass the vivid Red/Green test. Does anyone know if this is good enough for HRC Reclassification? If not, Are there any waivers that i can get?

You should probably talk to your local Career Counselor. They will know what the minimum requirements for vision to reclass and how to submit a waiver if possible.

Thank you SFC, Yeah i went to them but that was a dead end also. It seems like their confused too. They never had to put in a color vision waiver before. we put the reclass packet in to see where it goes, i was just trying to find a good answer.

Normal color vision is when you have no issues recognizing any colors. This is a requirement that must be met because of the nature of the MOS requirements.

Thank you SGM, I spoke with the career managers up at HRC for 17E they told me it shouldn't be a issue but they also said they haven't had anyone ask that question and it would be up to the reclassification department. I just thought someone had some experience with this type of issue. The job i'm in now requires normal color vision (13J) but didn't before.

Most likely you received a waiver for vision, which is normal in some cases. SGT (Join to see)

I'm on the same boat right now. I assume you didn't even need the color vision waiver in order to reclass to a normal color vision required MOS?
