While I initially inquire about the Navy, many here are encouraging me to go army. So, as an enlisted army reservist, what would PSYOP be like? I've heard it isn't SOF and you're attached to a conventional force.

What about the reserve optempo? Is it possible to maintain a civ career or are there short deployments every 4 months? Thank you.

Definitely in a Airborne unit there is a high OPTEMPO but for those of us in it, it’s usually what we want. Deployments don’t come often, most units try to fill from their company or other companies within their battalion.

Lots of 2-4 week orders if you maintain proficiency and relevancy to the unit.

I’m curious where you got all that information from, it’s all incorrect and misleading. Psyops have a much higher optempo compared to all the other Reserve MOSs but deployments are not what they used to be. Everything really depends on your unit as each have different responsibilities. If you want a higher optempo, join an airborne unit. Either way, you definitely won’t be deploying every four months. I suggest contacting a recruiter. They can perhaps put you in contact with someone who is credible and can provide accurate information.

Matthew Aquino are you really a CAC issued Department of Defense Civilian? Does Potential Recruit better describe your profile instead? If your profile is in error please update it.
