Hello,
I’ll be PCSin to Fort Polk assigned to the 32nd hospital center. I was wondering if anyone on here has been assigned or is currently assigned to this unit. What is it like? What is the work schedule? What is the deployment chance? How is housing for a married solider with no kids? I’d appreciate any answers, from what i understand it is a field hospital? Never been assigned to one before any advice?

I was at Ft Polk back in 83-83 but as a Stinger Missile TC. Nice Base Housing isnt bad at least back then, nice places I had a pretty new barracks pretty modern back then now I am not sure. I was in the field all the time, They called it little Vietnam because the place was similar to there, hot, muggly huge mosquitoes, raining and miserable most of the time and muddy as hell. Dont really know much about the field hospitals but I was glad they were there.

There's married soldiers with no children and they're getting four bedroom houses meanwhile I got put on a waiting list for one and I have kids. All in all the housing isn't bad, just keep an eye out for mold and spray your house for bugs

You will more than likely end up in an apartment on post
