What is it that you do when you are stressed in order to keep your head on straight?

Some of us read scripture, others paint or play instruments. Personally, I like to listen to music. What is it that you do when you become stressed out by life, work, medical issues, PTSD, etc?

I adult color. It sounds crazy but it is very relaxing. I have over 500 jell pens!!

You and my wife would get along great, when her mother has her stressed out come the books and away she goes with the coloring, mostly flower patterns.

Be it coloring with pens, using charcoal pencils or paint... creating art is art - and very stress relieving. It doesn't sound crazy to me one bit.

I watch Science related videos on Youtube. Or I may even watch someone else play video games on Twitch. Pertaining to the latter, folks always ask "How can you sit there and watch someone else play? Wouldn't you rather play it yourself?" There's a certain amount of stress involved even in playing video games, so my way of enjoying my form of entertainment, while also decompressing, is watching others play the games I like.

I too enjoy science documentaries on YouTube. NOVA has a lot of full length documentaries on there

I put on the music and weave... chainmail armor and jewelry. The patience required (and time) along with having to focus precisely on the details helps me forget about everything else.
Being 100% disabled from a broken neck and back (along with the other spinal cord problems), the constant visualization of that day I was crushed, the thoughts about "If I only..." or "Had the driver only turned off the truck...", "Why did it happen to me?"... weaving jewelry or armor takes so much focus that I forget about these things... until I can no longer sit upright to continue... then it's laying down in bed... listening to music.
