a four star general is simply termed "General" as opposed to brigadier, major or lieutenant (1,2, and three stars respectively) generals. A five star general (a wartime rank) is General of the Army.

General of the Army (5 stars) only used during a war or conflict. This rank is given to a General that has command over high ranking officers of other countries.

Whether it's 1, 2, 3, or 4 star, they are all addressed as general. Last time 5 star was used was WWII
