My report date to Fort Hood is 10 Feb, which is a Saturday. But no pin point orders, only to the replacement BN. I plan on taking 30 days of leave between here and Hood. Do you think it is best to report early while still on leave, the following Monday (12 Feb), or the 10th?

Report early if authorized or when you are no longer on leave or in a travel status -- To do otherwise sets you up for failure -- at least in my eyes. If you have a sponsor (you should) that NCO should be able to tell you if the unit is in the field, org day or anything unusual WRT signing in.

Not the way it works at Ft Hood.
Very few SM have pin point orders coming to III Corps.. senior officers and NCOS, and a very select few others.. and even then, things change between the time the SM got orders at departing unit and Need of III Corps units the day they are set to depart replacement majority in the 99% range will report to the replacement detachment, which is never in the field, no ORG days.
If it is not a Fed holiday or post wide Day of no scheduled activity, replacement is up and running.
SFC (Join to see) l I wold suggest reporting on a week with no federal Holidays, no schedule post day off as both of those will delay your departure from replacement and increase your stay in what is a less than fun environment.
I would report on the fist duty day of the week, IOW Monday increasing your chance of completing in processing to Hood in a single work week and getting to your new unit. In processing is scheduled for 3 days.. The majority that arrive on Monday, will be sent to the new unit by Thursday .... There are things that can delay an SM in replacement. But over all, they do a pretty good job of getting you though the process and on to the gaining unit.

SGM Erik Marquez - As long as they don't tell me that I gotta stay in the barracks at the replacement BN and not in my home with my family during inprocessing, then I'm good.

@SSG Jon Scheil yes married folks will get to go home and spend time with your family no requirement to stay in the barracks and less you're not authorize BSH

Fort Hood is a centralized in processing unit. You can report in on the 10th, or earlier if you are authorized. However, you will report in to the main in processing center, sign in, get some basic paperwork processed, they'll get you a barracks room unless you're authorized tdy housing, and then be told where to be and when to be there, which will usually be 0630 Monday morning for PT formation. After that, you begin the wonderful journey that is the several days of in processing. Later that week, there will be a gathering of all the new soldiers where someone high up will chat with you, and then your unit picks you up, and then you continue in processing at your unit. You'll usually get your next location a few days after you sign in. You can call the in processing folks who are always there 24/7 if you want to report any other time but you can easily report in at Hood on a weekend.

I should also add that if you're flying in to Killeen's Airport (GRK) then there is a detail that is there to shuttle arriving soldiers to the Copeland Center on post for signing in. If you're driving yourself, report to the Copeland Center, easily locateable on most mapping apps.

SSG (Join to see) - this seems to be the III Corps standard as Fort Carson's is exactly the same. Other posts are similar but they all have their little quirks.

Talk with your sponsor first. Very dependent upon where you're going. Since you're reporting in February, not everyone will be going to the field because of the weather. Talk to branch and ask them where exactly you're going. I spent time in 1ST CAV and 3d CR.

I'm going to replacement BN. I should receive specific unit orders once at replacement for a few days.
