Have we thought of doing a POLL on VA care? Right now I am living in severe back pain, have called and left messages at the VA for the past 4 days not only to the clinic but to the main hospital too and no one has called me back. I had to FORCIBLY drive myself to the ER at 2 AM to get some care and really they could not do anything for the back pain because having an MRI for back pain and adjusting the back is NOT a medical emergency. They did do x-rays and a CT scan but it was for my heart and for blood clots etc. They did give me a script for pain meds (Ultram - which I did not take because I am already taking another pain med from the VA! They were thinking it was something other than back pain because my blood pressure was really high. Told the doc it is because I was in pain and really PISSED OFF at the VA, he said he understood and wanted to be careful.
We need to KEEP the VA medical care in the limelight. Veterans are DEAD at the hands of the VA and the medical care is HORRENDOUS!!!
Anyway my 2 cents!

Can't get to him, the primary Doc has to REFER you too them. I can not get my P.D. to do anything. Seen her 4 times in 2 years and every time except 1 visit she has forgotten to refilled my meds and put in for ANY referrals. I need to see a Pain Spec, Othro, Back Spec. AND back in 2006 my case along with 6 other Vets who were paying for a Chiropractor, our cases were used to get the law passed for Vets to see chiropractors. Moved here 2 years ago and only once did she submit and I was awarded the visits to a CP but without the combo of a massage therapist. Those were DENIED by the COS at the main hospital and MT were approved as well in the law! Those original visits ran out and she has forgotten to renew them and I have seen her twice since, been 6 months now. Wasted more money because CP care must be CONSTANT for it to me effective!!!
BTW been in the VA system since 1991 so really I am USED to this kind of care!

SFC Mark Merino Sarah worked up the street at Baywood hospital. I got a job at ARMC. I love it out here. Nature, quiet, openness. I used to have bats stuck to the wall above my front door. Miss them :(. I see coyotes in the yard all the time. Rattlesnakes on occasion. A friend a bit easy even has a nice video of a Gila monster running around in the yard. Sarah isn't so fond of the rattlesnakes. She went to go to work last year and opened the front door on a mojave rattlesnake. Which of course rared up on her. Then there is that famous mountain. We're looking into having a custom home built for the next one. I've got some great design ideas around ICF construction. (Bulletproof). ;).

SPC Travis Grizzard What does she do? How does she like it. I'm going back on the market, I'm not at all fond of this place.

My sister has been there since it was Samaritan Desert, and stayed when it became Banner Desert. She won't go elsewhere. She's an RN in Post Partum. Banner for the most part, has a good rep with their employees.

SFC Mark Merino I may be a bit biased on this one. I have to say the one that is on the front of my car.

Cpl Dennis F. Yes I do have a bra on my car. After taking a few good hits from rocks and other objects I put it on to protect the paint. It's the 40th Anniversary Edition Grand Prix (2002) and looks as good today as the day I got it, even with over 235,000 miles on it. So if ya gotta go, you gotta go, but the bra is gonna stay!

1SG (Join to see) I understand.....and I don't! I have never understood the logic of protecting the paint for the NEXT owner rather than enjoying it yourself. Different ways of thinking I guess. My 1978 Lotus (also 200K+ miles) is a true classic and I drive it like I stole it. When a pick-up backed over the front at a stop sign, shearing off the light pods and driving the hood up over the windscreen, I don't think a bra would have helped much! Yes, she is much better now after a $14K insurance check was put back into her. Before...and after.

Polish the hood really good and put Opticoat 2.0 on it. Its very hard and virtually chip proof. Then your car won't need a bra.
I've always wanted a Lotus Esprit. When I was able to afford one, I needed a back seat for the baby seat. I wound up getting an Audi S6 last year.
