Just got my FSO with the old ACOG batteries. Sent him to another Lt to ask for them, and then he got sent to that LT's PSG. It was classic.

It was always "all in fun" we had a lot of West Point cadets come to Drum. So our LTs got a break, sometimes, I think our PLs and COs liked being included in our antics, performed with all due respect possible and only when circumstances were appropriate, it made the unit tighter, brotherly love.

We jumped our XO and duct taped him to his rack, carried him downstairs, outside and propped him against the barracks FOR SALE. CO got a chuckle, so being the Sappers we were, it only seemed logical that the CO was next. Six of us jumped on him while he was stretched out on his rack. What happened next is unreal, CO standing on his bunk all Bruce Banner, "Come motherfuckers" and the six of us getting up off the floor. He wasn't pissed, he just wasn't FOR SALE, we all had a good laugh, and he earned the kind of respect most COs only dream of. Good day. I miss those days.

In Israel as part of the 22 MEU we hung the LT's ruck sack high up on a tree pole and saw him going crazy looking for it & it was above his head. What a laugh.

Tell the Butter Bar to tell the E8/9 to go do something...That always works...

I do not think there is a Butter Bar alive that would have the balls to tell 1SG or a CSM a thing other than "good morning"

I felt sorry for them. Many an enlisted had more time in grade in the chow line than a brand new Lt.

Road wheel pressure gauge was always a classic. Boom checks on the main gun was the one I always got the LT's on.

Engineers doing recon work on /before an advance over new ground. Did a trafficability test (how many of what type vehicles could travel over ground). (that involved road wheel pressure gauging) so that one is a real item in the combat engineer kit

We were at the railhead and I asked if he had the box of reticle and Kanter valves.
