What is the best way to get my DD214 corrected?

I just found paperwork authorizing me the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal from back in 1997 but it's not on my DD214. The memorandum states that official orders are not required for me to wear it.

Submit a DD form 149 located here; http://www.dtic.mil/whs/directives/forms/forminfo/forminfopage2137.html to the Army Review Boards Agency to get a DD 215 issued. You can submit online (http://arba.army.pentagon.mil/abcmr-app.cfm) or mail the form to;

No reason to update the DD214 for AFEM. Just keep the orders with your 214 for those that would need that information.

Do not disagree with what you are saying, and why I added to keep a copy of the orders with DD214 for anyone who might have some need for that information. Getting a DD215 is not an easy process, and mine is miss an MSN but anyone thinking I was not in is not worth my time and probably hiding something themselves.

That whole issue causes me to get sideways most of the time...it sickens me that those human slugs feel the need to draw attention by claiming to be or do something they are NOT. They normally turn out to be really sad pathetic wastes but they need to find another way to make themselves relevant? They are all over the place but the ones going so far as to actually get uniforms are the worst. Then you have the soldiers who now think it is cool to out these scumbags and often go over the top the other way? Oh, and don't forget the politicians who pad their resume with fake military service...I hate when I step a pile of them and have to get a stick to scrape it off?

So the short answer, you would need to contact Human Resource Command (HRC) and find out the process to get a DD 215, which to correct your DD 214.
