I'm currently in a HET company which is extremely busy. Unfortunately, I can already tell that there's not going to be alot of time for personal improvement...ie...college, correspondance...etc. Whats the proper way to go about going to a different unit that affords a little more down time.

Hey Battle! You "should" not be denied Career Progression especially if it is due to you being tasked out constantly and there are others available (hence...is the Company MTOED properly?). I am sure you have already broken down your time management to show your in-ability to pursue your education, but I can only suggest then is not to just mention the problem with your Leaders, but also have a solution to the problem. This is hard for me to write since we have worked together and I know you are a very smart and resourceful NCO!

Also: keep in mind what the Battle Rhythm may be at your Unit. Is it a temporary issue due to upcoming events that may include training exercises?

AND...... a 4187 for Intra-Station Re-Assignment (usually between the SGMs depending on S.O.P.).

Being in the largest and busiest transportation company in the army, although fun and exciting at times, is hindering my ability to successfully go to college. I barely sleep as it is and can't risk staying up all night to peruse an education

Definitely continue to work the Chain of Command, they will eventually 'break' soon or atleast I would hope they understand furthering the education of soldiers/NCOs is vital to the organization.

SGT(P) Daniel McBride I would suggest talking to your 1SG and explaining the situation to him/her, to see if they can get another NCO from a different company to take your slot and you move to a different one, or maybe the 1SG can bring it up to your CSM and check other Battalions around post

Just talk with your command about attending college. Most are understanding and let you punch the clock slightly earlier.

trust me i've exhausted all means. I've heard something about a letter of release and a letter of acceptance
