So for those of us that are out of the service and using the VA Healthcare, there are several ways to schedule appointments. Last night, I used the My HealtheVet website to schedule an appointment. In the past, I've called or just scheduled in person.

My question is, what has been your go-to method to schedule appointments to be seen in a timely manner at your VA?

I work for the VA so I find it very easy to get an appointment. However from the out first you wanna get registered at what ever facility you want to be seen at, the while your registering ask how long before you’ll be assigned to a provider. You can also ask if they have walk-in or same day appointments. Most if not all VA facilities have an emergency or urgent care the wait may be lengthy but if you need care then it’s worth the wait.

I've used the HealtheVet site to manage appointments and any Rx needs I had.
In the past the VA actaully was pretty good about following up and calling or emailing me. One time there was an emergency and I just walked in and someone was able to see me within an hour.

Phone call is what I have used. But I also use MyHealtheVet as well.
