What is the contribution rule for campaign donations - specifically?

Bloomberg just dropped out of the race. I've heard reports that he spent everything he could on his campaign. Now, the rumor is, he will spend the same amount on another person's campaign. Is that legal?

He can give an unlimited amount of money to a Super PAC, and that Super PAC can spend the money on any candidates they choose, even if it chooses only one candidate. Aside from the Super PACs, here are the Federal campaign donation limits:
