What can we do as leaders to improve the current BCT and AIT situation if it is substandard?<div><br></div><div>With the influx of new soldiers within the past year I have been noticing a trend, soldiers coming in with attitude, no respect for superiors, terrible at PT, and feeling like they are above leadership. With the new standards in place of not being able to for lack of better words "smoke" a soldier, and counseling them is just taking the easy way out and not helping soldiers to see their wrongs, what can we as leaders do to break and/or change this system?</div>

Does any other NCO have soldiers that are brand new from AIT and think that the Army owes them everything already? Instead of doing hard work and learning how to be a soldier/learn their job to earn their rank. What ways have you showed a soldier on how to respect the ranks that they earn?
