Worlds best entry level employee mug
I argue private (E-1) because you can alway promote someone if needed but recruiting...

Right now, due to the recent downsizing. Good quality mid level NCOs and Officers

Good point about E-1, MAJ (Join to see). I'm going to say that the hardest rank to replace in the military is CSM, CW5, or any General Officer rank, because it takes so long and so much experience to reach those high ranks. It could take decades to replace those personnel in those ranks.

Excellent points. So what is the easiest rank to replace?

CW5 (Join to see) - I would respectfully disagree. One duty of any soldier with others beneath them is to make sure that the others beneath them can do their job.
If a CW5 goes down, a 4 should be able to fill his slot. Heck, if a MG and two BGs went down, I would expect three Colonels to be able to pull their sh*t together and run a division.
Hypothetically, if we got rid of one rank overnight (poof, they’ just all gone) or block of ranks, I think PFC, or PV2-SGT would be the hardest to replace.

There are what, maybe 250 General Officers? 650 CW5s? And behind them are probably 5000 colonels and 2000 CW4s just waiting to take their spots? But there are probably 250,000 E2-E5, and not a lot of people behind them eager to just jump in and fill in the hardest jobs in the Army, cutting grass, picking up poop with their bare hands, getting yelled at, etc.

just some thoughts..

The hardest rank to replace for me was when I joined the Army National Guard and the Gave me FING SPECIALIST. Gave me a bad taste from the start.

It's the same grade as Cpl, but seeing Cpl in the Army is really rare these days, at least in my experience.

I understand that. Cpl in the grunts is really hard to make unless you walk on water. I had already earned it had already went to NCO school as well

Just the principal to me anyway
