I miss the military teamwork system , Currently working in Law enforcement and working with veterans who still carry on the most valuable asset they learn in their prior service.

I miss using the M 16, many hated it but it had to be cared for like a girl friend, constant attention. Being a Combat Medic I didn't have many opportunities to use it but it saved my life and many others the times I did. I slept with it and carried it 24 / 7 during my 11 months in the field. '67 - '68

The soldiers to my left and right who had been through all the same crap I had been through. Hard to find in the civilian arena.

I miss my M16A2. I had never shot a weapon prior to joining the military, and I was terrified learning to fire it. However, I caught on pretty quick and loved it!

A friend of mine hadn't shot either before coming in. Came out of basic shooting 'sharpshooter', missing 'Expert' by one shot. Those of us who'd been shooting for a while were gob-smacked.
