My RE3 Code waiver was approved by USAREC last week but now I was told I have to wait for them to send my recruiter an approval email before they send me to the floor to pick my MOS and swear in. Has anyone dealt with this before or have an idea on a timeline? Recruiters don't have any answers for me and seem to be in the dark on this as well.

There is no such thing as an approval email. Waivers are submitted by electronic workflow in your electronic enlistment application in a system called GCR. The workflow goes from recruiting center, to recruiting company commander, to recruiting battalion operations, recruiting battalion commander/XO. then to USAREC. Once approved, disapproved, or "returned without action", it goes back to all those parties through electronic workflow in GCR. If your still "waiting", then the electronic waiver workflow has not been approved yet. The "email" probably means the notification of the waiver workflow status. Makes no sense at all that you were told that it had been approved by USAREC, and waiting on email. Its not approved until the electronic workflow in GCR gets checked approved. Once that happens, you are cleared to be projected to process at MEPS.

Yes the process is slow and the recruiter will not get word until al of the paperwork is reviewed and signed off on. Think of it this way. You’re not the only waiver that Usarec is processing on any given day it’s in the thousands so be patient and let the process work through until it’s logical conclusion

I understand, thank you for the insight on the situation. Just thought it was a little weird that I have to wait for a confirmation email even though my waiver was approved.
