What is the OLDEST model weapon that you used in the Military?

For many of us, this will probably be dominated by the .45 Cal. Model 1911 Pistol (in service since 1911) and the .50 Cal. M2 Machinegun (Manufactured since 1921). For me, it was the above 2 weapons, plus the Smith & Wesson Model 1905 .38 Special Revolver. Please make this weapons that you actually used, carried, or operated as a service member. (The Navy guys will probably win. They never throw anything away.)

I’m showing my age basic training m-14 Vietnam m-16 and of my all time favorite cal-50.

Well there was the .45 Cal. Model 1911 Pistol, the M16A1, M79 grenade launcher, then the FIM-43 Redeye Shoulder Fire Guided Missile Weapon.

I forgot some of the other weapons I used or shot were M3 submachine gun, the Grease Gun, Heckler & Koch G3 rifle, the Walther P38 pistol, the Heckler & Koch MP5 sub machine gun, then later the Beretta M9 pistol, M203 grenade launcher, and the M4A1 carbine. Oh yeah of course the M60 and .50 Cal M2 machine guns, plus the M249 Squad Automatic Weapon (SAW).

.45 Cal. Model 1911 Pistol. It was my primary weapon during the 25th Division Pistol Competition.
However, by "Weapon" if you are referering to everything I "used", you can include the:
Honest John Rocket (circa 1950)
105 Howitzer (circa 1941)
40mm Anti Aircraft Gun (circa 1930)
75mm Pack Howitzer (circa 1933)
4.2 inch Mortar (circa 1943)
M1 Rifle (circa 1936) - weapon we had for Basic Training 1960!
These are just a few of the weapons I actually used -- does not include the multitude of foreign weapons!

Nice resume', First Sergeant. And if you used it or carried it in the line of duty, it counts. I think the current winner is a soldier who was assigned to an official honor guard and drilled with a Brown Bess as part of his assignment.

One of the other real old things we used was the old land line field telephone that dated back to the 40's I think

We used an M-1 Garand, Browning Automatic Rifle, and .30 Cal. water cooled machine gun in Infantry Training Regiment for the Marines, June 1964.

I always wanted to fire the .30 Browning Machinegun. I was young and tried to hold the M-2 .50 cal. down to use the sights. It just about shook my dental fillings out.
