What is the pararescue training like, and how long before basic did you have to train to be fit enough?

Aimed at those who are in parachuting fields, or know someone who is. I am considering going into pararescue as one of my Air Force careers, but I know it’s a very rigorous and strenuous to get in. How many months/years in advance is training needed in order to pass the PAST test and hell night?
