Re-classing from 11B to 68W in hopes of going to SOAR. I was in search of some details of how I might go about getting a slot to green plt. Can I ask durning AIT like you can with RASP or do you have to wait until you get to your unit?

Its offered (or at least was) to the top 10 percent of the graduating class of AIT. Not sure if that was just an option for initial entry Soldiers, but I dont see why they would limit their pool like that. After you will do SOCM and EGP. If that doesn't work out, you can always walk in to a SORB recruiting station

Contact the SOAR recruiters.

Once you are interviewed and your packet submitted it will be vetted and if you are deemed SOAR material you would then attend an assessment program to be evaluated potential assignment. Once selected you then would be assigned to the Regiment in your MOS. Process takes 4-12 months from contacting the recruiters to assignment-it’s up to you how fast you can complete process.
There is a Facebook page you can go to as well for info :)
Good luck
