The E-4 Mafia has wrote them off, but still provides their services.

SPC James Burkett II - The thing that empowered E-4s back in the day was NCO support. You do bring up a valid point in that aspect.

PFC (Join to see) Yeah the NCO support was key to the power of the Mafia now the current real E-4 Mafia, not the Sham Shield Gang, stands to make the mission successful when the toxic leaders, not saying all leaders are toxic, drops the proverbial ball.

I remember it being "Never question the Mafia," but I'm married, so I'm likely wrong.

Because now they have to be responsible and don't want to be in a position of authority?

Yeah, you might've did more than Sprain it. You have to have it evaluated and if it doesn't get better, a profile might have to do.

This would have to stem from us literally being the first line of defense for the soldiers. In some units the command isn't looking out for their best interest. They are looking for personal gain and OER bullets. I'm living this horror story as weak speak. My soldiers are like my children and they mean the world to me. So if going toe to toe with the commander means my soldiers will be treated fairly then got dang it I will.

I believe it is because of the new responsibilities and power that they are trying to learn and make their niche in leadership style.

I have seen a lot of new SGT's and most embrace the new role. Some go beyond that leadership role, you have to use your chain of command to be a good leader.
