I have a question, I have a former Marine in my section that is now in the Army, he wears the Marine Corps Security Guard Ribbon. From what he's disclosed to me he got kicked out of the embassy guard program before he made two years and he was unable to reenlist because of that. Can anyone direct me to the actual regulation on the Marine Corps Security Guard Ribbon?

SSG Dennis Mendoza He is not eligible for the ribbon because he did not complete two years unless he was transferred early for the Good of the Service and must have served a minimum of 12 months in the program to be eligible for this award.

If he was relieved for cause, which is what it sounds like, he cannot wear it.

SSG Dennis Mendoza - It's very possible that the infraction was something along the lines of being caught with a girl in his room. Happened a lot out there and would have gotten him kicked off the program but yeah, not a big deal in the grand scheme of things.
