My wife and I will be PCSing to JBLM later this year, and I need to know the policy for storage of Privately Owned Weapons on JBLM. Basically can I store it in my on-base house or is it required to go to my Unit Arms Room? I have read a few different resources, but all the ones I've found only explain registration for weapons, and not storage.

If you are living on post in housing you can keep them at your residence but you will have to register them with the PMO. If the same with all posts. the difference is usually how fast you have to register them, Some say 3 business days others say XXX working days. go to the JBLM website and check the PMO link

Pretty sure there would be some very angry unit armorers if we had to keep em in the arms room, not to mention those arms rooms would very quickly run out of space. I sure as hell aren't going to let some random joe be able to handle my weapons and suppressors whenever the arms room is open.
Register it on post so that you're doing the right thing, and store em normally - in a safe or locked bag/box.

does anyone know if JBLM has made any recent updates to their weapons storage policy? I know different bases tweak their rules occasionally, and it’s always good to stay in the loop.
Also, for those who’ve had to register their firearms there, how smooth was the process? Curious if they’ve streamlined things or if it’s still a hassle.
