What is training like for a 68Q and how long is it?

It’s 6 months long at Fort Sam Houston. We learn how to add medications to IV bags in the laminar flow hood, compounding medications like suppositories/ointments, counseling patients at the window, different forms we use in the pharmacy, laws and regulations about medications and the pharmacy, and medications (brand name/generic name/side effects, etc). They’ll give you booklets for all of this.

Ok, when i served, '98-06, it was 91Q. At that time it was just shy of 5 months long & we did not have to go through the"secondary" mos training of combat medic first, i was the second class in that setup. It was a bit intense, being that it was very consolidated from the standard pharm tech course in the civi world & still dealing with the everyday drill sgt stuff, but i managed to pass with limited issue
