This is a hypothetical question and wanting to know the legalities since I will be in this business (real estate) this year. Let's say I own a piece of commercial property and someone wants to lease the property out and they plan on running a Marijuana business.. Should I deny a potential customer since I still fall under UCMJ or accept the monthly income.

Thank you

As the landlord, it doesn't matter one bit, your job is to rent that space!! Now, if you are a PARTNER in this business, well that could land you in trouble with UCMJ.

As a member of the armed services, I wouldn't let anyone sell anything that could possibly be seen as illegal out of a property I primarily owned. Sure it is in a state where that item is legal but I don't think it's worth the risk. It wouldn't look good in court for anything in the future that may affect you if it was brought up that you let someone lease your property for marijuana sales.

Talk to your local legal office but I would say it's ill-advised.
