So I'm curious to hear what other service branches do on their drill weekends. So far I've heard everything from literally sitting around doing nothing to some pretty highspeed stuff. So lets hear it, what's your average drill look like? What would you like to see instead? Does your time feel well spent and your contributions meaningful?

Inventory of Cyclic/SII. MOS Training as best as we can fit in (barring any STAT taskers that come our way). NCO/Soldier interaction (SGT's Time), and the usual Admin duties of Counseling, etc. PMCS.

Probably the extreme end here : Seven day long drills every other month, 200 miles of convoy with five of the days in the field, plus two weeks of AT (one recent year it was a six week AT) and a few regular two or three day drill weekends as well.
I was Navy reserve and heard the best description ever from the reserve Flag Officer. The Admiral said, “LT I have finally figured out what we do on every drill weekend. On Saturday we talk about what we did last month and on Sunday we talk about what we will do next month!”

He says they have field training on weekends is this an actual thing? And that he never really gets time off do how many days do they get off to spend with family/girlfriend ?

I would say it would depend on the unit and what assets are available to that unit. Like some have said there has been allot of check the box type stuff, mandatory classes etc that takes away from unit training time in the USAR.

In my first unit, drill weekends consisted of basketball games, and very little training. I transferred units and it was 100% different. From first formation, until final formation, we had little time to loaf around. We were either in the field or in classes.

Depends on the unit. When I was a reservist I got to see things from very different perspectives. In an MP unit we pretty much did nothing unless slotted to deploy. When I drilled with a psyops unit. They worked their buts off to get training in. They were actually doing pt. While in that unit the air national guard was near by. I also witnessed them doing more than just sitting around. However when the national guard who shared the same space was seen. They rarely were doing anything outside to include pt.

My average drill, in a Drill Sergeant unit, can vary from running rifle and pistol ranges, running round robin training for other units, we assist with running APFT's (almost every month), and then the MANDATORY power points and training.
